The Type of Personal Information We Collect
We currently collect and process the following information:
- Name
- Contact details (email address, phone number and postal address)
- Racial/ethnic origin
- Information about any physical and/or mental health difficulties you might have
- Any accessibility, dietary and health requirements relevant to your participation
How We Get the Personal Information and Why We Have It
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- To enable you to participate in the project we are running for The Children's Society
We use the information that you have given us in order to:
- Run the project, for example making contact with you to invite you to an interview or sending you updates on the project.
- Ensure that our recruitment is accessible and that we can cater to your individual needs (for example if you have specific needs to help you engage in an interview or phone call).
We may share this information with The Children's Society, however whatever we share will be anonymised. We will not share any information with them that could identify you.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
- Consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting becky@worksforall.org
How We Store Your Personal Information
Your information is securely stored. Your name, contact details and any accessibility requirements are stored digitally in a password-protected document on a password-protected computer.
We keep contact details and other data that you share with us for the duration of the project, until November 2025. If your application is not successful we will delete your data following the completion of the recruitment process.
When we dispose of your information, we will delete all copies that we hold electronically (including any back up copies). If we hold hard copies of your data these will be destroyed using a cross cut shredder.
Your Data Protection Rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a complaint to us at becky@worksforall.org.
You can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.
